How Widespread Is The Disease?

Millions of Americans suffer from the effects of alcohol and chemical abuse. Chemical dependency, including alcoholism, is a disease that knows no social or economic barriers. It affects the young as well as the old. Lawyers and judges are no exception.

It can affect any aspect of a person’s life: family, health, relationships, finances and job. The effects can be devastating — both to the individual and to those around them. Fortunately, there is hope for all concerned.

What is Effective In Treating The Disease?

The alcoholic or chemically dependent attorney or judge is unlikely to seek assistance and the disease progresses. Most often family, partners and other attorneys are aware of the problems and become more concerned as the disease progresses. Until now, personal and strictly confidential help was not available from within the profession.
