Membership Information
LCL Mission
LCL works to help lawyers, judges, and law students affected by alcohol and/or other drug abuse, other addictions, depression and other mental illnesses, stress and other life-related problems, and any condition which negatively affects the quality of one’s life at work or at home.
LCL Membership Requirements
Anyone may apply to become a member of LCL if he or she cares about those affected by, or afflicted with, the problems of addiction or dependency, mental illness, or other issues affecting the profession, and is willing to give time and talent to helping these people.
How to Become a Member
Becoming a member-volunteer of LCL is as easy as:
- filling out a Member/Volunteer Application, and
- mailing it into our office
Membership is free. There are over 300 members to date. It takes five minutes to fill out an application and the benefits are numerous. Once you become a member, you will receive:
- Invitations to LCL fellowship activities (Spring Social and retreats)
- Personal and professional networking with other members through monthly Membership meetings
- Education about substance abuse, mental health and other disorders
- Free training in areas such as intervention and mentoring
- Opportunities to reach other lawyers
- Receive the LCL newsletter “Witness to Recovery”
- Opportunities for personal and professional growth and information about significant developments in treatment resources
- Mailing notification of new resources, programs, and services offered by LCL
- The chance to offer your expertise through participation in committees such as: web site, fundraising, education and much more
